Instructions to make Plain cakes:
  1. Sieve the flour and put it aside
  2. Mix the sugar and butter until the sugar dissolves in it. It's better to use a cake mixer but if you don't have that you can just substitute something else
  3. Add the eggs gently and stir to avoid curdling
  4. Add the milk if you wish and stir
  5. Add a pinch of salt if you are using unsalted butter, your nutmeg and most importantly the baking powder
  6. Add the flour and stir, it's advisable to use a metal spoon for this
  7. Add the flour in bits, you don't want to have a cake with bad texture
  8. The paste should be light
  9. Rub butter on your cake pan to avoid sticking and sprinkle some flour over the butter
  10. Pour your mixture into the pan and bake for 30 minutes
  11. To Know if your cake has been cooked perfectly, shove a table knife through the middle, if it comes out clean then your cake is perfectly cooked
  12. Allow to cool and eat
